It is with great sorrow that we issue this release on the tragic coal mine accident which took place in Manisa/Soma on 13 May 2014 claiming the lives of more than 270 miners according to initial reports.

Observing a three-day national mourning declared in Turkey following the tragic disaster, flags were lowered half-mass at the Embassy and a condolence book will be open until 19 May 2014.
